Used small bore (approx 0.480") tenor trombone dating most likely from 1910. Silver plated instrument with tuning in the slide. No slide connection nut. No slide lock. Horn needs work to play - there are some dents in the bell and the slide is very slow though shows no major dents. The in-slide tuning mechanism is missing. A collector's item today, this horn is sold as-is and would be a nice restoration project. Price firm. Includes case. No mouthpiece.

Early model Germanic trombone, most likely a Lidl made in Moravia (Czech Republic) possibly as early as 1850 (unlikely) and as late as 1940. It's also possible it is a Communist East German/East Bloc post-war build from the late 1940's to the 1970's (owing to the lack of makers marks). Our best guess places this horn as an unlabeled Lidl instrument produced in the interwar years. This unlacquered instrument is a straight, large bore model with a 9.5-inch (241 mm) bell. This model features no make...

This is a small bore (0.500") instrument with Olds' characteristic flat wrap F attachment, flat braces, and mechanical linkage rotary valve. Slide is in good condition with a fast, smooth action, and the overall finish is generally quite good for a horn this age. There are no dents or dings other than one repaired dent in the back of the main tuning slide. Once a very common instrument, espe...
