Narrative: Part of the Alan Raph Collection. This fairly stock Conn Lindberg horn was Alan's go-to large bore tenor trombone. It features the standard (new Generation) red brass bell and yellow brass slide. This horn has the old King-style gold lacquer treatment, which makes the metal appear darker than it is naturally. This horn, serial 5 701xxx, was made in the early 2000's, and likely features one of the earlier CL2000 Lindberg valves (it is stamped "Patent Pending"). The valve works wonderfully, and is tight and responsive befitting a professional player's needs. The horn has a King counterweight installed, an obvious aftermarket add-on that puts the horn into perfect balance. Without it the horn will be slightly front heavy. The slide handgrip features a soft leather wrap for comfort, otherwise the horn is stock all around. The horn has no dents other than a significant "forward impact" crease in the bell flare, probably from being in the gig bag and experiencing some impact into a hard surface. The crease isn't horrible, but it's noticeable. It could be readily rolled out. We have elected to leave it given the potential collectable nature of this horn, but we are willing to remove it if you like.
