    Pas Redouble (Oliver) [4E+4T w/percussion]

Romantic. Pas Redouble was written in 1887 by Camille Saint-Saens as a four-hand piano work, but it gained its popularity by the famous concert band work by Arthur Frackenpohl. The tempo of the pas redouble usually varied with the ability of the performer, as well as the wishes of the composer and the customs of the time period. The tempo chosen here, and by Frackenpohl, was to be done between the military cadences of the quick march and the double-quick march. For this arrangement, percussionparts have been included, but they are not necessary for performance purposes. -the publisher
