Trombone Solos - Unaccompanied

  • Robin

    S.P.

21st Century (2007). Written for trombonist Steve Parker's Language and Sound Project, S.P. explores the transition between air, noise and pitch. This trombone solo is a duet with oneself. Through the use of a jazz brush or similar brush, percussion is performed in the bell while other musical events unfold through the use of air, speech, and traditional pitch. S.P. is a short and concentrated work well suited for the trombonist looking to explore less traditional sound materials. -the publisher
