Trombone Modular Screw Bell Flare Assembly - liteweight goldbrass
Modular bell component for Bach Artisan series trombones.
Detachable Bell Flare. The screw bell design allows the bell flare end to be removed for storage, allowing the use of a compact flat case for travel. The screw ring assembly, which also functions as a dampening mass at a critical location along the bell taper, has the slight effect of solidifying or focusing the sound, especially at loud dynamics.
8.5" one-piece hand-hammered bell. A one-piece bell generally gives a better response over two-piece designs due to the lack of the additional solder joint at the bell flare.
Goldbrass bell material. Though subject to debate, gold brass is often thought to make for a warmer sound to the player, with slightly less projection than yellow brass. Comprised of 85% copper, 15% zinc. No gold is used in the manufacture of the bell.
Flat rim & soldered steel wire. Besides giving the bell rim a slightly lower profile, the flat wire rim helps make the horn more responsive to articulation without sacrificing the ability to play at loud dynamics.
Lightweight brass. A bell with thinner brass tends to give quick response to articulation, be more brilliant in sound and with more response to player inout than a standard weight bell.
Clear lacquer finish. As part of a modular design, this bell flare is ready to install on your Artisan A47 body without need of additional polishing and lacquering.
