Older horn, probably made in 1906. No numeric model designation. NOT the Falcone model. Doesn't play well, but is in otherwise decent condition. Body is straight except for a handful of small dings. Valves move nicely, but seem to leak. Spring-loaded tuning system operates, but is slow and may be missing some unknown trigger parts. Silver plate is heavily tarnished and appears flaked. The Yamaha YEP-201 is a good intermediate grade 3-valve instrument used everywhere from schools to concert bands and brass bands. This model has a small shank mouthpiece receiver and features a 0.571 inch medium bore and 11 inch bell. The instrument is in very good condition with a handful of small dents along the main bell branch. Otherwise the horn is straight and clean. The valves work well and all the tuning slides move easily. This horn has been cared for. This model is still produced today ...
The Yamaha YEP-642S is a professional grade, 4-valve compensating instrument in a 4+1 configuration, making use of the 4th valve much easier with the left hand. This model has a large shank mouthpiece receiver and features a 0.591-0.661 inch large bore. The instrument is in excellent condition with only one minor dent on the lower main bell bow, three small spots on the sides where the silver plate has been worn away. Otherwise the horn is straight and clean. The valves are fast, quiet, and agil...
