BEHOLD, GOD IS MY HELP, Op. 26 by Alan Hovhaness, has been arranged for 5-part Trombone Choir (including several nice solo phrases) by Jeff Reynolds. This beautiful work is rich, dark and lyrical, originally written for chorus, based on Psalm 54 and is in the key of A minor. The bottom part is scored for contrabass trombone but may be played by a bass trombonist with a good set of lungs.
The work sounds mysterious, serious and has a special inner beauty that is very common in the music of Hovhaness. - the publisher
