Trois Chansons by Claude Debussy has been arranged for brass quintet by Andrew Poirier. The work in three movements was composed for 4-part mixed a cappella choir based on medieval poetry of Charles, Duke of Orleans in the 15th century. The work was first performed in 1908 and is Debussy's only one for unaccompanied choir. Each work is in A-B-A form.
The overall effect is reminiscent of Renaissance music but transported into the Impressionist era of Debussy. The instrumentation is for standard brass quintet with B-flat trumpets. - the publisher
