Changes have been made to both movements to add the arranger's personal touch to the music. The Allegro, for example, was originally a concerto grosso ensemble work, but is here shaped into a solo work, accompanied by a robust electronic ensemble. And for the Largo, the arranger has created an original counter-melody to compliment Bach's primary melodic line. Dr. Corwell performs this added obligato part on a classical guitar for the pre-recorded CD accompaniment. However, yet another performance option is available. One may choose to have the obligato part performed live onstage alongside the soloist. To this end, an extra track has been added to the accompaniment CD marked "Largo Acc (no gtr)". This special track is a complete performance of the accompaniment mix, but with the guitar obligato absent. If using this track with the guitar extracted, the obligato part should be performed live along with the solo, by either a guitarist or oboe player. Notated parts for both instruments are provided. *Please note: Dr Corwell has also arranged the Allegro for tuba-euphonium quartet. In this version This version is also available from Nicolai Music.
