Prelude, from Te Deum (Stewart) [422.11 w/timpani]
Baroque. Marc-Antoine Charpentier was a French composer active in the late 1600's. He was a contemporary (though not a friend) of Lully. The Te Deum is perhaps his most well known work to brass players, and the Prelude is popular for its grand fanfarish character. In addition to standard concert use, this work is appropriate for weddings, graduations and other ceremonial occasions.
