The Botanical Suite is an easy level composition for tuba and piano. It is meant to help less experienced players have success with performance. The rhythms and key signatures are easy and the range, while not extreme, may challenge a young player to stretch their upward limit. The title of "Botanical" is supported by the movement names, which highlight different kinds of plants. The characteristics of the plants are meant to be conveyed by the sounds of each movement. The four movements are: I. Sunflowers: con moto II. Weeping Willow: larghetto III. Oak Tree: andante IV. Wheat Field: moderato
The hope is for the player to learn from the music and to step into the world of an accompanied solo. The second hope is for the player and the audience to enjoy and have fun. - the publisher
