21st Century. "Corno" for solo Bb trumpet, is a piece inspired by history. It is written as a kind of tribute to the instrument which was used in Ancient Rome as the so-called "opening trumpet" for signaling the start of the melody proper.

The work was written at the time of the composer's research into the rold of the trumpet in early Polish music. It is a tripartitie piece, whose outside sections are a kind of musical declamation based on the intervals of fourths and fifths, and the cnter section has the virtuosic character with Oriental rhythmic structures. - the publisher
