No relation to the 56H of old (a small bore "pea shooter"), this new model is a medium-large dual bore (0.525/0.547) intermediate horn with a traditional wrap F attachment and rotary valve. Features include: • 0.525/0.547 dual bore. • 8-5/8 inch rose brass bell. • Standard wrap F attachment. • Rotary valve with traditional string linkage. • Medium-width slide (4-7/16-inch). • Brass outer slide tubes. • Single radius nickel slide crook. • Chrome plated inner slide tubes. • Bach 6.5AL mouthpiece with gold plated rim, inner cup & backbore. • Woodshell case. • Full warranty. • Made in USA at Conn's Eastlake, Ohio plant. In addition to being a great dual bore tenor in and of itself, the 56H, like the 52H it is based upon, is ideal for advancing players who want to make a smooth transition from a small bore to a larger symphonic trombone. The dual bore helps provide the larger sound needed in concert band & orchestra, while allowing for an acceptable "lead" sound in jazz ensembles. The medium wide slide is easier to handle for younger playes and those without large hands. The 56H's use of a small shank mouthpiece and its 525 primary bore helps give the player greater flexibilty and a clearer (and easier) high range while requiring less air than a large bore model. A straight 547 bore slide can be added later to make this instrument a true symphony model, similar in many respects to the Conn 88H. -cdp
