Concerto [Rapsodia] Borealis - A Nordic Rhapsody

Solo part in tenor clef included. This version is an oversize edition of this piece (10.5" x 14.5").

The composer had in mind a sort of circular structure centered around a truly lyrical, cantabile theme - a song of the North for the trombone (hence the title which means Rhapsody of the North). Composer uses semi-dissonant, kaleidoscopic and nearly minimalist chord progressions followed by a series of playful inventions and tuneful hymns. Although a virtuosic work, the composer states his intentions of emphasizing the tender, lyrical side of the modern concert trombone in this work. Original version for trombone and wind orchestra. Includes solo part in C (bass clef) and Bb (treble clef). NOTE: This is the same, identical work as "Rapsodia Borealis." This edition is a piano reduction of the orchestral/band edition set in professionaltypeset notation. The only difference between this and the "Rapsodia" is that this edition is published in an oversized format with a spiral binding.
