    19th Century (ca. 1899). American. Classic virtuoso showpiece based on an old Scottish folk tune that helped make Sousa-band trombonist Arthur Pryor famous. Comprised of an introduction, theme and three progressively more difficult variations with a cadenza between the 2nd and 3rd variation. For solo trombone (optional trumpet or euphonium) and concert band. Set includes condensed score, solo trombone/baritone, solo trumpet, and parts for piccolo, 3 flutes, 2 oboes, Eb clarinet, 3 clarinets, alto clarinet, bass clarinet, 2 bassoons, 2 alto saxes, tenor sax, bari sax, bass sax, 3 cornets, 2 trumpets, 4 horns, 3 trombones, baritone/euphoniums, tuba, strings bass, tympani & battery percussion.
