Double Valve Bass Trombone, Complete v.1-3

The late New York City-based bass trombonist Paul Faulise wrote three study books, his first in 1983, and two follow-up volumes in 2008. Combined, they contain valuable exercises covering the double valve bass trombone. The original title from 1983, popular at the time as one of the only books addressing the double valve horn, was his classic F & D Double Valve Bass Trombone. The two later books complimented his first book by supplying additional material to help players gain a fuller understanding of the instrument, specifically the independent or "inline" valved horn (the original book from 1983 was tailored to the dependent or "stacked" valve system still popular at the time). The later volumes include The Inline Double Valve Bass - The Basics, which covered fundamentals and was targeted at players coming to the instrument from tenor trombone, and The Inline Double Valve Bass - Daily Warm-Ups, which focused the player on developing skills on an independent valve system. These three volumes have now been compiled into a single volume in this re-release.

Mr. Faulise says the following about his books:

It is not the intent of these exercises to have the instrument played as a valve bass trombone (no slide movement). They are designed to give the player an insight as to the possible valve/slide combinations that help to create smooth slide movements.
