The Yamaha Venova is a new type of wind instrument that's fun to play and sounds like a small saxophone. Constructed of ABS plastic, it is lightweight and compact, The Venova uses recorder-type fingerings, so it is easy to learn and play. Recorder fingerings are very close to those of the flute or saxophone (or clarinet 2nd octave), so existing wind players will find it a natural fit. An octave key and a few right-hand keys allow easy access to the full range without need of some of the harder recorder fingerings. The mouthpiece is a standard soprano sax setup and can use standard natural reeds, as well as synthetic (a synthetic reed is supplied). Accessories include mouthpiece, cap, ligature, synthetic reed, cleaning swab and carrying case. Some key features and inclusions: • Lightweight - weighs under a half pound (under .22kg) • Compact - only 18 inches long (46 cm) • Standard soprano sax mouthpiece setup • Uses synthetic (included) or natural soprano sax reeds • Sleek hard case with Strap • Owners Manual & Tune Book (with fingering chart)
