This lesson book series was designed for college brass studios but is also great for instructors with high school and adult students. The instructor's manual contains a skills test that can be used with the Arban (trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba) or the Kopprasch (horn) books. The book is used to assess a student's level of ability in all measurable skill areas, set semester goals, make assignments geared toward goals, organize practice technique and then track and test progress at the semester or year end. The companion Student Log Book contains a year's worth of lesson logs. The 200- page book is undated, so it can be started anytime during the year. The Instructor's Manual outlines how to use the Student Log Book effectively and contains ideas on how to use only portions of the program to accommodate different styles of teaching and reduce time involved if flexibility is desired. Other important resume building logs are included for the student as well as further ideas for graded projects. Offering a way to grade students more objectively, these materials were pilot tested at the University of Arizona, and have received great reviews in The Horn Call and the ITEA Journal! A must have for the ultimate in organization and progress management! 65 pages. Spiral Bound.
