    The Fanfare from Le Martyre de Saint Sebastien for brass choir and timpani is a sophisticated and brilliant work by Claude Debussy. It comes from his incidental music for the 1911 mystery play written for the famous actress Ida Rubenstein by the Italian author Gabriele D'Annunio. The Fanfare is taken from Part III of the work and is titled Le Concile des faux dieux (the Council of the false gods).
