Classical. One of a cycle of 24 quintets composed for five virtuosic professors at the Paris Conservatoire. 20th Century. Assumed to have been a school project when Respighi was 18 and studying composition in Bologna. Piece (which was never completely finished) includes an Allegro and three variations of an Andante.
