English, Late Baroque composer (1718-1763). Movements entitled: Vivace; Allegro; Larghetto Andante. In key of D major, Bb trumpet part plays above the staff throughout. If you are looking for an alternative to any of the more standard Baroque trumpet works, this concerto might be the perfect choice. Like a well-known trumpet piece of Giuseppe Torelli, Mudge's work is less a "trumpet concerto" than a "concerto with trumpet." Its instrumentation is more closely related to the concerto grosso than to the solo concerto. The form is not related to the (Italian) concerto, but rather consists of a French overture in two parts with a following movement.
