Trombone Case
Original equipment Bach case is designed to fit all Bach model 6, 8, 12, 16, 36 or 42 series tenor trombone, valveless or with any factory valve or wrap (except K valve). Also fits some other brands with dimensions similar to that of a Bach. The 1867 is a handsome woodshell case covered in chocolate brown fabric with a heavy zipper enclosure. Inside the case are two mouthpiece holders and a compartment for small accessories. The case's bell flare is built entirely into the lid portion so that the case can sit flat on the floor when opened. A large, full length exterior zipper pocket allows the storage of music or other flat items.

Bam Classic
Trombone Case, French Style
One of the lightest cases on the market, the Bam 3030SP tenor trombone case is in the classic shaped "French" design. Unlike traditional woodshell cases, this model is constructed of a solid block of expanded foam covered on the outside in a heavy waterproof nylon. The case is black with a medium sized external carry pouch and attached rings for a standard shoulder strap (included). There's a handle on the end of the case as well as in the traditional spot. Inside, the foam is covered in plush green velvet material. You can store a mouthpiece or two, plus a few small items like a spray bottle, oils etc. This would not be a good case to check as luggage unless you put it into an SKB golf bag carrier or road case, but depending on the plane, it might fit into an overhead compartment. We tested the case with many different models of tenors - small, medium & large, with and without valves and open wraps - and found the fit to be good to very good for each. The slide is held in the lid in a soft,nicely formed area and secured with two lobes of foam, without the use of straps or tiedowns. The bell section rests nicely on the bottom part of the case as would be expected. The bell flare itself is securely cradled all the way around in foam. This case is a good option if you are looking for the protection of a hard case but the lightness and slim profile of a gig bag. Made in France and assembled in the US.

The Bam Xlite 3030SP trombone case is a lightweight case formed of injected foam and a molded shell covered with a attractive black naugahyde cover with zipper enclosure. The Xlite is not a gig bag, but also not a hard shell case. It is quite light, while offering more protection than a gig bag. This case is somewhat flexible and fits all makes & models of small and medium bore tenor trombones, with or without F attachments. Many large bore tenors will fit the case easily, including those with F attachments and open wraps. However, instruments with Thayer & Lindberg valves will fit a little tightly at first and may not be as well protected as other models. Case comes with a unique snap-on external music folio that holds even the largest of scores. Permanantly attached double backpack straps allow carrying over one or both shoulders.

Each bag is made with dense, heavy duty foam for maximum protection and fine buffalo leather rather than less durable cowhide. Leather is processed under strict environmental guidelines with only approved, legal tanning compounds. All seams are completely padded, especially those around the bell rim and under the zipper, two areas where many other bags are unprotected. All leather seams are tapered and hand turned to hide bare edges, then glued, stitched and double riveted (when applicable).
