Christmas. The traditional Christmas carol Joy to the World has been cleverly arranged in a jazz style for 6-part tuba-euphonium (3 euphoniums and 3 tubas) by Los Angeles studio trombonist, composer and arranger Randy Aldcroft. Parts 4 & 5 (tuba 1& 2) are also suitable for euphonium (though 5 will need a 4th valve for a few low Eb's). The arrangement was commissioned by Jim Self for his recent Christmas album, Tis The Season Tuba Jolly on Basset Hound Records. The music includes a lush jazz-chorded introduction followed by a jazz waltz. This 4-minute arrangement is perfect for moderately advanced performers. Bass and Treble parts are included for the 3 euphonium parts. -the publisher/cdp
