Romantic. Um Mitternacht (At Midnight) is one of Bruckner's 30 secular choral works. They were written for Liedertafel or men's choral societies. This work WAB 90, a second setting, was composed and first performed in Vienna in 1886 for humming men's choir and tenor soloist. It is hauntingly beautiful and has been arranged for 5 trombones by Ralph Sauer. -the publisher
